  1. Description: A brochure advertising volunteer opportunities on the Appalachian Trail.
  2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I knew I wanted to create a brochure about the Appalachian Trail, but I wasn’t sure how to proceed. I looked for inspiration on Pinterest and the internet, and I decided to go with a double gate brochure. I designed the logo in Illustrator and placed it in an InDesign document. After making many edits and receiving many critiques, I added the body copy. I printed it off at AlphaGraphics and created a video showcasing it.
  3. Message: Encouraging people to volunteer at the Appalachian Trail.
  4. Audience: Anyone interested in hiking, the outdoors or the Appalachian Trail.
  5. Top Thing Learned: I learned how to design throughout a larger document like the brochure. Repetition was a big element here.
  6. Color scheme and color names: Big split complementary; Lime, Teal, Violet, Brick
  7. Title Font Name & Category: Cantata One, Slab Serif
  8. Copy Font Name & Category: Tenor Sans, Sans Serif
  9. Word Count of copy: 279
